It is a very intimate place of just four rooms, and it holds an outstanding 4.9 stars from more than one hundred and ten reviews. Breathtaking sea and sunset views, a warm, home-run feel and breakfasts guests describe as made with love are what fill the reviews, several calling it the most memorable stay of a multi-island trip.
With only four rooms the atmosphere is cosy and private, and the villa is built to make the most of its perch above the coast, spacious rooms with large bathrooms, a beautiful pool area and a terrace where the sunset is the evening's entertainment. Everything is described as spotlessly clean and thoughtfully kept, and the setting close to Beau Vallon gives you the north coast's best beach on your doorstep with a quiet retreat to come back to.
The hosting is what guests write home about. Maude, who runs the place, is named again and again for looking after guests with the passion of an owner, from a delicious homemade breakfast every morning to help with anything the day needs. It is that personal, wholehearted care, on a small scale, that turns a good view into a stay people remember.
Glacis is a green residential stretch of the north coast of Mahé, on the road between Beau Vallon and the northern tip of the island, where the hills drop steeply to a rocky, scenic shore. It is quiet and largely residential, moments from Beau Vallon, the island's most popular swimming beach with its calm bay, sunsets, restaurants and water sports, and close to the pretty little cove of Anse Nord d'Est and the north-point viewpoints. Victoria, the capital, is a short drive, and the whole north of the island is easy to reach.
