Guesthouse · Anse Des Genets, Mahé
★★★★★ 4.7 (52 Google reviews)
✓ Verified listing · Official Seychelles Tourism registerThe Runway Lodge is a family-run guesthouse at Anse des Genets, in the Pointe Larue area of Mahé. It holds a 4.7 rating across 52 reviews. The name fits the setting. The lodge sits close enough to the airport that most guests walk to the terminal in about five minutes. What surprises people is how calm it feels. Guests describe it as peaceful and quiet, exactly what a traveller wants the night before an early flight or after a long one.
The property has five rooms and sleeps up to ten. Reviewers found the rooms spacious. Several mention a balcony that looks out over the runway, good for watching planes come and go. Beyond the aircraft, the views take in the sea and the granite rock formations that Mahé is known for. There is a pool on site, and guests treat it as a real bonus for a quick dip rather than an afterthought. For a stopover stay, it offers more than a bed and a door.
The hosting is what lifts the reviews. Denis, sometimes written Dennis, runs the place with Tina and Edwin, and guests name all three warmly. One couple arrived late at the end of their honeymoon and were greeted on arrival. Another guest was driven to the terminal early in the morning, a trip that took about a minute by car. The hosts are described as welcoming and responsive, quick to help with a last-minute schedule change. Breakfast comes up again and again as delicious, and Tina and Edwin are remembered for good local recommendations.
Being this close to an airport usually means noise and little else. The Runway Lodge is the exception. It pairs the convenience of a five-minute walk with a pool, real sea and rock views, and warm family hosting. The 4.7 rating is earned rather than inflated. Guests come for a practical airport night and leave describing a genuinely pleasant stay.

We stayed here the night before our flight. We heard the traffic on Mahé can get blocked up unexpectedly, so we didn't want to risk missing the flight. Runway Lodge is close enough to walk to the airport in 5 minutes, but Dennis was so kind as to drive us early in the morning it took 1 minute. He was very welcoming an

Such a great spot near the airport! Perfect whether you’re just crashing for one night or staying a bit longer. It’s surprisingly calm and peaceful, which is exactly what you need after a flight - or before the next one. The pool is a big bonus — perfect for a quick dip to cool off and reset. Also, it’s a family-run p

The management accommodated our last minute schedule change and provided great service and a delicious breakfast. The hotel is very close to the airport but still has incredible views of both the sea and the granite rock formations on Mahe. I would stay there again.

Anse des Genets sits on the east coast of Mahé at Pointe Larue, right beside the international airport. That location is the point. The terminal is about a five-minute walk, and Denis will drive guests who have an early start. Despite the closeness, the spot stays calm. Anse Royale and its longer beaches lie a short drive south along the coast road. Victoria, the capital, is roughly fifteen to twenty minutes north by car. A rental car helps if you want to explore the island, but for a single airport night it is not needed. Taxis and the main road are close at hand.
