Why almost everyone marries here

Mahé is the easy "yes"

There's a reason 95 in 100 of our couples choose Mahé, and it isn't compromise. It's that everything a wedding needs already lives on this island.

You land married-adjacent

The international airport is on Mahé. No ferry crossing with a wedding dress, no connection anxiety. You can touch down, check in, and be standing on your ceremony beach within the hour. For couples on a tight schedule, that margin is everything.

The machinery is here

The Civil Status Office, the Supreme Court that issues your apostille, our photographers and florists, the stylists, the cake maker: all on Mahé. Shorter distances mean smoother timing, and smoother timing means a calmer bride and groom.

Sixty beaches, distilled to four

Mahé has more than sixty beaches facing every direction, and we've spent a decade learning exactly which ones deliver privacy, calm water and perfect light for a ceremony. We marry couples on our four proven beaches, including one truly private spot in the north we keep secret until you book. Whatever the season is doing, one of the four is at its best.

Real weddings, real light

Married on Mahé looks like this

Choose your sand

Four ceremony beaches. The right four.

Mahé has more than sixty beaches. After hundreds of weddings, we marry couples on exactly four of them, the ones that deliver privacy, light and calm water when it matters. Curation is the luxury.

The wild one

Anse Bazarca

Deep in Mahé's untouched south: powder-white sand, turquoise water and often not another soul in sight. For couples who want their ceremony to feel like the edge of the world, in the best way.

The elegant one

Maia Beach

A graceful sweep of golden sand on the sunset coast, with calm water and the soft late light photographers dream about. Refined, romantic, effortlessly beautiful.

The classic

Baie Lazare Beach

Sculpted granite boulders, leaning takamaka trees and that postcard Seychelles scenery. If you've pictured a classic island wedding photo, this bay is where it was taken.

Invitation only

The beach we don't name

A truly private beach in the north of Mahé. No crowds, no onlookers, no pin on any map, just you, the registrar and the ocean. We'll tell you where it is when you book. Until then, it stays our best-kept secret.

How your Mahé wedding comes together

  1. Tell us your date

Message us on WhatsApp or email with your preferred date. We confirm registrar availability, usually within a day, and recommend the beach that will be at its best.

  2. Send your documents

Passports and apostilled birth certificates, plus situational papers where applicable. Our complete documents guide lists everything by nationality, and we file it all with the Civil Status Office for you.

  3. Land and exhale

Fly into Mahé, our island. Check in, swim, let the jet lag melt. We confirm the final details while you remember what holidays feel like.

  4. Marry on the beach

Your chauffeur collects you, the registrar conducts the legal ceremony on the sand, and you celebrate with cake and sparkling wine as the light turns gold. Travelling as just the two of you? We provide the witnesses.

  5. Fly home married, everywhere

You receive your official Marriage Certificate with the Supreme Court apostille, recognised internationally. UAE and GCC couples get embassy attestation handled before departure.

After the vows

Honeymoon: stay, or island-hop

Many couples honeymoon right here: Mahé has everything from hillside boutique stays to beachfront villas like Alibel Beach Villa at Anse a La Mouche. Others marry on Mahé and then drift to Praslin and La Digue for the quiet week after, with the Cat Cocos ferry connecting all three. If the no-cars, granite-boulder romance of La Digue calls to you, our La Digue wedding guide covers marrying there too, and our packages page compares all three islands side by side. Either way, we arrange the ferries, the cars and the stays in the same conversation as the wedding.

Good questions

Mahé wedding FAQ

How much does a wedding on Mahé cost?

Our all-inclusive Mahé Luxury Wedding Package is currently €1,645 per couple, reduced from the regular €1,920. It includes the official registrar, Marriage Certificate, Supreme Court apostille, all government fees, a chauffeur-driven wedding car, gazebo or arch, bouquet, customised cake and sparkling wine.

Is a Mahé beach wedding legally recognised internationally?

Yes. Your ceremony is a civil marriage conducted by Seychelles' official registrar, and your Marriage Certificate carries an apostille from the Supreme Court of Seychelles under the Hague Convention. It is recognised internationally, including across the UK, EU and GCC countries.

Why do most couples marry on Mahé rather than Praslin or La Digue?

Around 95% of our couples choose Mahé. The international airport, the Civil Status Office, the Supreme Court, the photographers and all wedding vendors are on this island, which makes logistics simpler, timing safer and the overall experience calmer. Mahé also has over sixty beaches, so there is always a sheltered, beautiful option whatever the season.

Which beaches can we get married on?

We hold ceremonies on four hand-picked Mahé beaches: Anse Bazarca in the wild south, the elegant Maia Beach on the sunset coast, the classic granite-framed Baie Lazare Beach, and a truly private beach in the north of the island that we keep secret until you book. We recommend the right one for your date based on season, tide and light.

How long do we need to be in Seychelles before the wedding?

Send us scanned documents at least 14 days before the date, since the law requires the marriage banns to be published for 11 days. Most couples arrive a few days early to settle in. On a tighter schedule, a special licence can be issued within 2 days for a small fee, which is how our express weddings work.

Do we need to bring witnesses?

No. If you're eloping as just the two of you, we provide the legally required witnesses.

How much do a photographer and wedding film cost on Mahé?

A professional wedding photographer is €750 with RAW files available on request, an international photographer (German, Russian or Italian) is €850, and a cinematographic wedding film starts from €1,290. A scenic helicopter flight over Mahé can be added for €490.

When is the best time of year for a Mahé wedding?

Mahé is a year-round wedding destination. April, May, October and November typically bring the calmest seas and softest light, and because the island has beaches facing every direction, we can find a sheltered ceremony spot in any month.
