There is no single boat straight from Mahé to La Digue. You sail Mahé to Praslin on the Cat Cocos catamaran, then cross from Praslin to La Digue on the short Cat Rose ferry, changing at the Baie Sainte Anne jetty. The whole journey takes about ninety minutes and can be booked as one connecting ticket. Here is how it works, the real 2026 times, and a book button.
The journey is two easy legs with a simple change on Praslin. First the Cat Cocos fast catamaran takes you from Victoria on Mahé to Baie Sainte Anne on Praslin in about an hour. You step off, walk a short way along the same jetty, and board the Cat Rose ferry for the fifteen-minute hop to La Digue. The connection times are built into the timetable, so there is no long wait.
Take a Mahé to Praslin sailing that connects to a Praslin to La Digue departure. The two legs below line up with comfortable connection times. Reconfirm close to travel, as rough weather can change sailings.

It sounds like a lot, but it is genuinely easy and rather lovely. An hour across open water to Praslin, a short stretch of your legs on the jetty, then a quick fifteen minutes to La Digue with the granite peaks growing ahead. Arriving at La Digue by boat, with its old harbour and the bicycles waiting, is one of the nicest arrivals in the Seychelles.
La Digue needs no car at all, but the connection through Praslin does reward a little planning. Tell us your sailing and we can have a rental car waiting at the Baie Sainte Anne jetty on Praslin if you are stopping there, or arrange a bicycle for you on La Digue. On Mahé before you sail, we cover airport transfers and car hire too.
Not on most days. You sail Mahé to Praslin on the Cat Cocos, then change to the short Praslin to La Digue ferry, booked as one connecting ticket. The only direct sailing is the La Digue to Mahé boat on Saturdays and Sundays at 14:15, in the return direction.
About ninety minutes in total, roughly an hour from Mahé to Praslin, a short change on the jetty, then about fifteen minutes from Praslin to La Digue.
The connecting ticket starts from around €74 one-way per adult in economy, with a business-class option for more. Children travel at a reduced fare, and a €2 port fee per adult applies on departures from Mahé.
Yes, at Baie Sainte Anne on Praslin, but it is a short walk on the same jetty and the connection time is built into the timetable, so you will not be left waiting long.
There is no airport on La Digue. You can fly Mahé to Praslin in about fifteen minutes and then take the short ferry to La Digue, but for most visitors the Cat Cocos and Cat Rose ferries are simpler and far better value.
Yes. Booking a connecting ticket keeps the two legs timed together, and in high season the popular sailings sell out. Most tickets come with free cancellation up to twenty-four hours before departure.
Reserve the connecting Cat Cocos and Cat Rose sailings together, so the change on Praslin is timed for you. Secure checkout, instant e-ticket.
