Why this island

A La Digue wedding is unlike anywhere else on Earth

La Digue is the fourth largest island in Seychelles and the one that time politely ignored. There are almost no cars here. People move by bicycle and by ox cart, giant tortoises wander the gardens, and the beaches are framed by pink granite boulders found nowhere else in the world. Anse Source d'Argent, on this island, is one of the most photographed beaches on the planet.

Getting married on La Digue means your wedding photos need no filter and your ceremony has no traffic noise. It also means real legal weight: Seychelles is one of the few countries where foreign couples can have a fully legal civil beach wedding with no residency requirement, conducted by the official registrar, with a marriage certificate apostilled by the Supreme Court of Seychelles. The certificate is recognised internationally, including in the UK, EU and GCC countries.

Anse Source d'Argent

The world-famous one. Shallow turquoise water, sculpted pink granite boulders and soft light in the late afternoon. If you have seen one photo of Seychelles, it was taken here.

The quiet north

Anse Patates

A small, intimate cove on the northern tip of the island. Granite rocks, gentle waves and very few passers-by. Ideal for couples who want the ceremony entirely to themselves.

The golden hour

Anse Sévère

Calm, swimmable water facing west, which makes it the island's best sunset ceremony spot. Easy to reach, beautiful at low tide, and perfect for barefoot vows.

The wild one

Grande Anse

Wide, dramatic and powerful, with rolling surf and a long sweep of white sand. The choice for couples who want their photos to feel epic rather than postcard-pretty.

Good questions

La Digue wedding FAQ

Is a La Digue beach wedding legally recognised internationally?

Yes. Your ceremony is a civil marriage conducted by Seychelles' official registrar. You receive an official Marriage Certificate with an apostille issued by the Supreme Court of Seychelles, which is recognised internationally, including in the UK, EU and GCC countries.

How much does a wedding on La Digue cost?

Our all-inclusive La Digue Island Wedding Package is currently €2,090 per couple, reduced from the regular price of €2,720. It includes the registrar, marriage certificate, Supreme Court apostille, all government fees, venue decoration, bouquet, cake and sparkling wine. A ceremony at Anse Source d'Argent carries a €100 location surcharge.

Which beaches on La Digue can we get married on?

You can choose between four beaches: Anse Source d'Argent, Anse Patates, Anse Sévère and Grande Anse. Each has a different character, from the iconic granite boulders of Anse Source d'Argent to the wild surf of Grande Anse.

How do we get to La Digue?

Fly into Seychelles International Airport on Mahé, then take the Cat Cocos ferry via Praslin to La Digue. The crossing takes around 90 minutes in total. We help you plan the ferry connection, and there are no cars to worry about once you arrive: the island runs on bicycles and ox carts.

What documents do we need to get married in Seychelles?

You need valid passports and birth certificates, plus a divorce decree or the death certificate of a former spouse where applicable. We submit everything to the Civil Status Office on your behalf and confirm the exact requirements for your nationality when you enquire.

Is there a residency requirement before the wedding?

No. Seychelles has no residency requirement for foreign couples. Most couples arrive a few days before the ceremony so the final formalities can be completed, and many are back home within a week of saying their vows.

When is the best time of year for a La Digue wedding?

La Digue is a year-round wedding destination. April, May, October and November typically bring the calmest seas and lightest winds, which photographers love. We advise on the best beach for the season when you book.

Can you arrange a photographer and videographer on La Digue?

Yes. A professional wedding photographer can be added for €850, an international photographer for €990, and a cinematographic wedding video from €1,290. RAW files are available on request.
