How we collect, use, share and protect your personal data, and the rights you have over it.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data SeyBooking.com collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We are committed to handling your information lawfully, transparently and with care.
SeyBooking (trading as SeyBooking.com™) is an independent company registered in the Republic of Seychelles under the Registration of Business Names Act 1972 (B.R.N B8429462, T.I.N 522236103) and licensed by the Seychelles Investment Board as a booking agent (Licensee number 108486, Licence number 312378). Our registered office is at Eden Islands, Mahé Island, Seychelles, and our postal address is P.O. Box 3002, Anse Royal, Mahé Island, Seychelles. In these terms “SeyBooking.com”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this company. “You” means the customer using our website or making a booking.
This policy applies to personal data we process when you visit www.seybooking.com and our related regional websites, contact us, or make or manage a booking with us. Because we welcome visitors from around the world, including the European Union and the United Kingdom, we apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR to the personal data of those visitors, alongside applicable Seychelles data protection law.
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
You do not have to give us personal data, but if you do not provide the information we need to arrange a booking, we may be unable to process it.
We only use your personal data where the law allows us to. The legal bases we rely on are set out below.
| Why we use it | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| To take, confirm and administer your booking and communicate with you about it | Performance of a contract with you |
| To forward the details a provider needs to deliver your booked service | Performance of a contract with you |
| To provide customer support before, during and after your trip | Performance of a contract, and our legitimate interests |
| To detect and prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents | Our legitimate interests, and legal obligation |
| To improve our website, services and customer experience through analytics | Your consent (analytics cookies), and our legitimate interests |
| To send you marketing about similar travel services | Your consent, or our legitimate interests for existing customers |
| To keep business, accounting and tax records | Legal obligation |
| To establish, exercise or defend legal claims | Our legitimate interests |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we make sure those interests are not overridden by your rights. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
If you have booked with us or asked to hear from us, we may send you news about similar travel services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by contacting [email protected]. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about a booking you have made.
We do not sell your personal data. We are an independent company and we are not part of any wider corporate group, so we do not share your data with group companies. We share it only as needed to run our service:
We are based in the Republic of Seychelles, which is outside the European Economic Area, so processing your booking necessarily involves transferring your data to Seychelles. Some of our service providers may also process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data of EU or UK visitors outside the EEA or UK, we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable level of protection, for example through appropriate contractual safeguards.
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. Booking and financial records are kept for as long as required to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. Marketing data is kept until you opt out. When we no longer need your data, we delete it or anonymise it.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls, encryption of data in transit, and limiting access to staff who need it. Because we take payment by bank transfer, your card details are never entered on or stored by our website. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with “Data request” in the subject line. To protect you, we may ask you to verify your identity. We will respond within one month, and we do not charge a fee for a reasonable request. If you are in the EU or UK and you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, though we would be grateful for the chance to resolve your concern first.
Our services are intended for adults. Our website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and support our marketing. You can control non-essential cookies. Full detail is in our Privacy & Cookies page.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “last updated” date, and significant changes will be made clear.
