Each unit is a two-bedroom apartment, and every bedroom has its own private bathroom. Guests describe a large living room, a well-equipped kitchen and a terrace with a sea view. One repeat visitor called the space comfortable and spacious, and noted that everything was clean and well maintained. The layout suits families or two couples travelling together, since the private bathrooms mean nobody has to share.

The hosts are Berty and his wife Amandine. Guests were met at the airport, greeted with a welcome drink and fresh fruit, and left with food for breakfast on arrival. Berty and Amandine lend out snorkelling equipment and bus passes, and help with whatever guests ask. One family has stayed three times and said the couple make them feel like family. Another guest called them incredibly nice and generous.

Just across the street is a quiet beach, with shops and bus stops close by. Glacis sits north of Beau Vallon, a short run from the busier part of the coast. The 4.9 is earned, and it is earned mostly by the people who run the place. There is no manufactured drawback here. What guests come back for is the sea-view terrace, the quiet beach opposite, and hosts who go out of their way.

Glacis runs along the north tip of Mahé, above Beau Vallon and its long stretch of sand. The beach directly across the street is quiet, and shops and bus stops sit within easy reach, so short trips do not need a car. Buses pass along the coast road, and the hosts hand out bus passes, which keeps getting around simple even without a rental. For the airport or the far south of the island a car helps. Berty and Amandine meet guests on arrival, so the first trip in is already taken care of.
