It is an intimate place of around five rooms, and it holds an excellent 4.8 stars from more than one hundred and ten reviews. Clean, well-kept rooms, a genuinely warm family welcome and a central spot handy for the whole island are what fill the reviews, several from honeymooners who felt thoroughly looked after.
The rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable, each with a kitchenette, a toaster, fridge, microwave and kettle for easy self-catering, and there is a full kitchen at the family home guests are welcome to use for more elaborate cooking. Some rooms have a terrace, and the whole place is quiet and homely rather than fancy, which is exactly what many guests are looking for. The location is a real strength, a short bike ride from the village and well placed for reaching both the north and the south of the island.
The hosting is the heart of it. Jennita, the owner, and her family are named again and again as warm, welcoming and helpful, looking after guests every day, sorting taxis and bikes from local businesses and making people feel at home. Guests describe last-minute bookings turned into lovely stays and honeymoons made special. Anse Réunion is a long stretch of the west coast of La Digue, running south from the main village of La Passe, lined with guesthouses, small restaurants and the road that leads on to L'Union Estate and the famous Anse Source d'Argent. La Digue is a slow, largely car-free island where the bicycle is king, and from Anse Réunion it is a short, flat ride to the harbour, the shops and the island's celebrated beaches, and an easy base for reaching the quieter coves to the north and south. I throughly enjoyed my stay at Pension Hibiscus. 🌺 Jannita ensured I was taken care of every day. The rooms were so well kept. I thought the location was perfect as well. Close enough for a short bike ride to town, but also accessible to the north and south of the island. You will enjoy your stay if you stay at Pension

It is one of the island's most convenient areas to stay, lined with guesthouses, self-catering places and small restaurants, and it sits on the road that leads to L'Union Estate, the old plantation, and on to Anse Source d'Argent, the celebrated beach of pink-granite boulders and shallow turquoise water. La Digue is a slow, largely car-free island where almost everyone travels by bicycle, and from Anse Réunion the harbour, the shops and the beaches are a short, flat ride away, with the quieter coves of the north and the wilder east within easy reach. The ferry links La Digue to Praslin in minutes and on to Mahé, the main island with the airport.
