✓ Verified listing · Official Seychelles Tourism registerThe Four Seasons Resort at Desroches Island is a luxury resort with a remote coral island almost to itself, far out in the Amirantes, well beyond the main granitic islands. It is a resort of around seventy suites and villas, and it holds 4.7 stars from more than two hundred reviews. World-class service, complete isolation and the feel of a private island are what guests come for.
The suites and villas are spacious and beautifully finished, spread along the beach and among the palms, many with a private pool. The island itself is the draw, a low, palm-covered coral cay ringed by white sand and clear water, with cycling, diving and a genuine sense of being far from everywhere. Guests describe check-in done in the room, food they rate among the best anywhere and the space of an island that is essentially all theirs.
Service is the constant in the reviews, warm, personal and remarkably attentive, with staff who learn guests' names and check in on them each day. More than one guest calls it the best hotel experience of their life, and honeymooners in particular write of feeling looked after in every detail. It is a resort built for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Desroches is a single small coral island in the Amirantes group, reached by a light aircraft flight of around forty minutes from Mahé, so it sits well apart from the busier main islands. There is nothing on the island but the resort and its beaches, which is the point, with world-class diving on the surrounding reefs and drop-offs. For a truly remote private-island luxury resort with service to match, the Four Seasons at Desroches is one of the finest in the country and one we happily recommend.

We had a fantastic honeymoon here! Our state was actually in August 2024, and I have been meaning to write a review. I was just talking about one of the staff members, Florence, who was so very welcoming to us and had also been at the Four Seasons in Tanzania when we went there in 2023! I think it’s a testament to how

We had such an amazing stay here—it’s honestly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been to. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was incredibly warm. The check-in was done directly in our room, which made everything feel easy and relaxed right away—no waiting around, just straight into holiday mode. The in

We had an incredible stay at Four Seasons Desroches — the service is truly world-class and the attention to detail is exceptional. Most of the staff knew us by name and genuinely checked in on our experience around the island each day, which made us feel so welcome and cared for. It’s clear how hard the team works to

This was the best hotel experience of my life, and I have been to many. Everything was incredible: the place, the service, the food. They have thought of everything. It feels like living as royalty in this beautiful, isolated island.

I stayed at two Four Seasons properties in the Seychelles: one on Mahé Island and the other on Desroches Island. Among the many Four Seasons hotels I've visited over the years, these felt fairly average. That said, when compared to other hotels and resorts in the region, they would likely earn near-perfect scores. I v

Desroches is a small, low coral island in the Amirantes, one of the Outer Islands of Seychelles, lying well to the south-west of the main granitic islands. It is reached by a light aircraft flight of around forty minutes from Mahé, and there is little on it beyond a single resort, a scattering of palms and rings of white-sand beach, which is exactly its appeal. The waters around Desroches are famous among divers for their reefs, walls and abundant marine life, and the island is flat and easy to explore by bicycle. This is the remote, castaway end of Seychelles, a world away from Mahé and Praslin, and reaching it is part of the experience.
