It is an intimate place of around five rooms, and it holds an excellent 4.7 stars from more than one hundred and ten reviews. Spotless, well-kept rooms, stunning views over the bay and a genuinely warm family welcome are what fill the reviews, close enough to the beach to be handy yet set back enough to be peaceful.
The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, well cared for with clear pride taken in their presentation, and every room opens onto a terrace overlooking the bay so the view is shared by all. There is a small but pleasant pool, lovely for a late-afternoon dip and a hit with children, and the whole place has a calm, homely feel. It sits a short way above Beau Vallon, close to the beach and good restaurants but away from the bustle.
The hosting is the heart of the reviews. Nicole and Paulo, the hosts, and their family are described again and again as warm, friendly and helpful, giving guests a genuine welcome, taking real care over the little things and gladly helping arrange excursions and sharing good local tips. It is that personal, family-run warmth, matched to a beautiful view, that guests remember and recommend.
Beau Vallon is the long, gently curving bay on the north-west coast of Mahé, the island's most popular and best-loved beach, a wide sweep of sand famous for its sunsets, safe swimming and the line of restaurants, bars and water-sports operators along it. There is a Wednesday evening beach market, diving and snorkelling trips leave from the shore, and the calm bay suits families. The hillside behind gives the elevated guesthouses their views. Victoria, the capital, is a short drive over the hill, and the whole north of the island is easy to reach. For a warm, family-run B&B with a bay view above Beau Vallon, Villa Roscia is one we are glad to recommend.

Beau Vallon is the long, gently curving bay on the north-west coast of Mahé, the island's most popular and best-loved beach. It is a wide sweep of pale sand with calm, safe water for swimming, backed by a lively strip of restaurants, bars, hotels and water-sports and diving operators, and it is the classic spot on Mahé for sunset. A Wednesday evening beach market brings food stalls and local life to the sand, and boats leave from here for diving, snorkelling and island trips. The green hills rise steeply behind the bay, giving the elevated guesthouses their sweeping views, and Victoria, the small capital, is a short drive over the hill. Mahé is the main island, home to the airport and most of the country's people.
