We absolutely loved our stay here! It's right on the Anse Royal beach, with shops and takeout places around it. We used the free kayak and cooked in the kitchen. Anse Royale is a long, calm beach on the south-east side of Mahé, protected by a reef and popular with local families at weekends. From the retreat you can walk to the village shops, takeaways and a handful of restaurants and bars. The beach is at the door, so no transport is needed for a swim or a paddle in the free kayak. The main airport sits about twenty minutes up the east coast, with Victoria a little beyond it at around half an hour. A hire car helps for reaching other beaches and the interior, and the owner can arrange one along with the airport transfer.
