It is an intimate place of around twelve units, and it holds an excellent 4.8 stars from more than one hundred and forty reviews. A beachfront garden setting, spacious well-equipped cottages and hosts who make everything possible are what fill the reviews.
The cottages are simple, clean and comfortable, set among a big, birdsong-filled garden with the beach just a few steps beyond, and they come with what a family or group needs to cook and settle in. Kayaks and canoes are there for guests to take out and explore the bay, and the shops, supermarkets, car rental and restaurants of Côte d'Or are a ten-minute walk, with the local bus stopping right up the road. Guests describe long, easy, quiet stays and returning with children.
The hosting lifts it above a simple beach cottage. The hosts, Pierre and Heidi, and their team are described as welcoming, kind and endlessly helpful, and one guest quotes Pierre's line that in Seychelles nothing is impossible, and that he proves it. From arranging the small things to making guests feel like family, it is that warmth on one of Praslin's best beaches that guests remember. A note passed on from a review, better path lighting after dark would be a small improvement.
Côte d'Or, also called Anse Volbert, is the long curving bay on the north-east coast of Praslin, one of the island's best-loved beaches, a wide arc of soft sand and calm, shallow, turquoise water that is safe for swimming and gentle for children. Along the bay are shops, supermarkets, dive centres, car rental and a good choice of restaurants, and from the beach you can take a boat to the tiny islet of St Pierre or on to Curieuse and La Digue. Inland, a short drive away, is the Vallée de Mai palm forest where the coco de mer grows. For a beachfront self-catering stay with warm hosts on Praslin's best bay, Les Villas D'or is one we are glad to recommend.

Fantastic location with the most beautiful beach on the island. The guest houses are spacious and equipped with everything you need. The yard is large, and kayaks are available for guests to use. As a suggestion for the owners, I would recommend improving the lighting along the pathways and around the houses for added

The hotel itself is beautiful and literally 10 meters from the beach. It's well located near shops, supermarkets and car rental agencies (10min walk). Côte d'Or, also called Anse Volbert, is the long curving bay on the north-east coast of Praslin, one of the island's most popular and well-served beaches. It is a wide arc of soft sand backed by takamaka trees, with calm, shallow, turquoise water that is safe for swimming and snorkelling and gentle for children. This is the busiest stretch of Praslin in the best sense, with shops, supermarkets, car rental, dive centres and a good spread of restaurants within an easy walk, plus the local bus along the main road. From the beach, boats run to the tiny islet of St Pierre and on to Curieuse and La Digue. Inland lies the Vallée de Mai, the UNESCO palm forest of the coco de mer. Praslin is the second-largest island, reached from Mahé by a short flight or the fast ferry.
