It holds an outstanding 4.9 stars from more than one hundred and sixty reviews, among the highest on the island. Direct beachfront apartments, a pool with an ocean view and warm, hands-on hosts are what guests come back to.
The apartments are modern, comfortable and beautifully designed, each with a captivating ocean view to wake up to, a full kitchen with everything you need, oven and microwave included, and updated, spotless bathrooms. There is a pool overlooking the sea that families love, a barbecue, a communal covered seating area, a laundry and beach towels provided. It sits right on the sand, with several good restaurants a short walk away.
The hosts are the heart of the reviews. Michelle and the team, several named by guests, are described as genuinely warm and attentive, arranging a doctor when a guest fell ill and making weddings and special stays run perfectly. It is that personal hospitality, on a beautiful stretch of beach, that guests remember and return for.
Anse Royale is on the south-east coast of Mahé, a long, sandy beach with a shallow, reef-protected lagoon that is calm and safe for swimming and snorkelling, and a favourite with local families. It is a relaxed, scenic part of the island, with restaurants, shops and the spice garden at Le Jardin du Roi close by, and other lovely southern beaches a short drive away. Anse Royale is one of the longest and best-loved beaches on the south-east coast of Mahé, a broad sweep of soft sand backed by the village of the same name. A reef runs offshore, sheltering a shallow lagoon that stays calm and clear, safe and easy for swimming and good for gentle snorkelling, which makes it a favourite with local families as well as visitors. The village behind has shops, cafés, restaurants and the University of Seychelles, and the spice garden at Le Jardin du Roi sits in the hills above. Other lovely southern beaches, and the calm bay of Anse Forbans, are a short drive away, while Victoria and the airport are around twenty minutes to the north. Mahé is the main island, and a hire car makes the most of this scenic southern coast.
