Amitié lies on the gentle south-west coast of Praslin, close to the island's small airstrip, which makes it one of the handiest spots for arriving by inter-island flight and stepping almost straight onto the beach. It is a relaxed, local stretch of self-catering places and easygoing eateries rather than big resorts, well placed for the long sweep of Grand Anse and the west-coast beaches. Praslin's celebrated Anse Georgette, on the Constance Lémuria estate, is a short drive away, Anse Lazio lies over the hill to the north, and the coco de mer palms of the Vallée de Mai are a quick trip inland. Buses run along the coast road and car hire, as here, is easy to arrange locally.
