Four chalets sleep up to eight people. The largest is a full house with two separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a kitchen fitted with everything a family needs. One guest arrived to a large fridge already stocked with juice, milk, eggs and toast. There is a covered patio, a landscaped garden and deck chairs set out on the sand. The rooms are described as very clean, and a resident cat greets arriving guests.
The host guests name again and again is Jacques, and the place is run by the family. Reviews call him humble, helpful and caring, a person who genuinely looks after his guests. He helps with food and with car hire, and the cleaning is done well. Several guests describe simply feeling at home.
The chalets sit a few minutes from Praslin's small airport, so guests who fly in from Mahé are close by from the moment they land. Supermarkets and Grand Anse are near. One guest was honest that during the south-easterly wind season the beach in front could not be used for swimming, and she wished she had been told in advance. Jacques made up for it in other ways. Jacques is a great person, he cares about his guests. The accommodation is direct on the beach, just few minutes from the small local airport (just few small planes landing, no problem), so if you fly in from Mahe it is just there. Amitié sits on Praslin's south-west coast, close to Grand Anse and its supermarkets and shops. The property is only a few minutes from the island's small airport, so the short flight from Mahé is an easy way in. The beach is right at the door, though the south-easterly winds can make it rough for swimming in season. A car helps here. Guests said renting one lets them reach the whole island, and Jacques helps arrange hire. The ferry to Praslin is the other main route in, with taxis available on arrival. For a self-catering base by the sea, the location is quiet and convenient.
