La Residence Dalmee is a small, two-room self-catering pension at Baie Sainte Anne on the east side of Praslin, and its reviews land firmly in the same place, spotlessly clean, quiet and genuinely well cared for. Guests describe comfortable rooms with a balcony, a functional, well-kept kitchen and thoughtful housekeeping, towels changed daily and bed linen every other day, which more than one visitor says made the stay feel especially fresh.

The welcome is warm and personal. The host, described simply as a lovely, friendly lady, looks after guests attentively, and the breakfast draws real praise, generous and homely, with a home-made jam that one returning guest still remembered fondly. This is a small, family-run place where the owners clearly take pride in keeping everything just so.

The location suits arrivals and island-hopping. It is only about a kilometre from the ferry terminal, an easy reach whether you are coming from Mahé or La Digue, with guest car parking on site and the bus stop close by. Several guests chose it precisely for that convenience and were glad they did.

The honest note, made plainly by guests, is that the immediate area is quiet to the point of sleepy, there is not much to do within walking distance and no bar or busy strip nearby. For travellers who want a clean, calm, well-hosted base to sleep and self-cater between beach days and boat trips, that suits perfectly, and the 4.7 rating reflects a small pension that does the important things very well.

Great room, balcony and amenities. Love how clean and how functional the kitchen is. The lady who welcomed us is also super friendly! 🫶 There’s guest car parking available too! The accommodation is close to the ferry terminal. Not much to do around but that’s not the hotel’s fault!

We had a wonderful stay! The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Towels were replaced daily and bed linen every other day, which made our stay feel extra fresh. The hosts really take good care of the place. The only small suggestion would be to add a bit more kitchen equipment, but overall everything w

We had the pleasure of staying there two years ago - I regret not having rated this beautiful self-catering pension earlier... It's about 1 km to the ferry terminal (that's why we chose the location). Very nice, beautiful rooms. Also we were treated to an absolutely amazing breakfast, including a delicious home-made ja

Service was great, place itself spacious and clean. Very nice large balcony. Very close to the bus station. Our place got cleaned daily, the staff was nice and professional. However, the area itself is a little boring to be honest - not a single bar in the area of 30+ minutes by walk.

Getting there and the area

Baie Sainte Anne sits on Praslin's east coast, the island's main link to Mahé and La Digue by ferry and a quiet, residential village away from the busier resort beaches. It works best as a practical, well-connected base rather than a beach-on-your-doorstep one, and it puts island-hopping day trips to Curieuse, Cousin and La Digue within easy reach of the jetty. Inland, the Vallée de Mai palm forest is a short drive, while the celebrated beaches and restaurants of the Côte d'Or line the north coast a little way round. A hire car or the island bus makes the rest of Praslin simple.
