The GWM Tank 300 is the flagship of the fleet, a big, rugged, retro-styled 4×4 SUV that turns heads and goes almost anywhere. It is fully automatic, with a commanding driving position, a genuinely luxurious cabin and serious off-road hardware. Selectable four-wheel drive with a low-range gear and front and rear differential locks means the roughest island tracks and steepest hill roads are no obstacle, while it stays composed and comfortable on the coast roads.
It seats five in real comfort with a large boot for a family’s luggage, and the interior is a step above anything else we rent, with a big touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, it is a large 4×4 rather than an economy car, so budget a little more for fuel and enjoy the drive. Every car is automatic, cleaned and checked before it reaches you.

Every car in the fleet, including the Tank 300, is automatic transmission. There is no manual option, so no clutch work on Mahé’s hill roads.
Yes, it is a serious 4×4 with selectable low range and front and rear differential locks, so it takes rough tracks, steep climbs and loose surfaces in its stride, and it is equally happy as a spacious, comfortable cruiser on the coast roads. Please keep to roads and legal tracks and drive to the conditions.
No. No deposit and no credit card are held against your booking. You pay cash or card when the car reaches you, and insurance plus unlimited mileage are already included in the rate.
On Mahé, free delivery to the airport or your hotel and villa. On Praslin, delivery to the airport, the jetty, or your accommodation, with a three-day minimum on any car picked up or dropped off there.
The Tank 300 seats five in comfort and has a large boot of around 400 litres that folds flat to over 1,500 litres, easily enough for a family’s luggage.
