Villa Club Tropicana is a self-catering villa perched above the sea at Carana, on the north coast of Mahé. It holds a perfect 5.0 rating across 53 reviews, and the thing guests return to again and again is the view. The villa sits high on the hillside, and the sea fills the horizon in front of it. Guests describe pausing several times a day, coffee or cocktail in hand, just to take it in. Magical sunsets came up more than once.

The space is built around that outlook. There is an infinity pool that seems to blend into the horizon, so guests said swimming in it felt like swimming straight into the sea. The terrace is large and gives onto the same north-east-coast view. Inside, the villa is tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. It is spacious with room for a group, and guests found it quiet and private. There is gear on hand for various leisure sports too.

The hosts are named warmly and often. Guests thank Barbora, Karl and Lucie for courteous, attentive hospitality. One guest said the hosts made them feel welcome and cared for, and that communication was excellent throughout. Another found the place easy to reach thanks to signs pointing the way up. Nobody reported a service problem. The welcome is a real part of why people rate this villa the way they do.

Carana is a small cove on north Mahé, and the villa's hilltop position is the whole point of it. The reward is privacy and a wide view over the coast below. The 5.0 rating here is honest. It rests on three things guests repeat plainly, the perched sea view, the infinity pool and the hosts, and no review raised a real complaint against it.

Getting there and the area

The villa stands on the hillside above Carana, a small cove on the north coast of Mahé near Glacis and Anse Nord d'Est. The setting is green and quiet, with the ocean spread out below. Carana beach itself sits down the hill, and Beau Vallon with its shops, restaurants and dive centres is a short drive to the west. Victoria, the capital, is roughly twenty to thirty minutes by road. Because the villa sits high above the sea, a car is genuinely useful here, both for the climb to the door and for reaching the beaches and villages around the north of the island.
