About STORY SEYCHELLES (Ex The H Resort)
- Opened in August 2015 as the H Resort, built from the ground up on Beau Vallon beach. Bought in November 2020 by STORY Hospitality, part of Abu Dhabi Capital Group in the UAE, and renamed STORY Seychelles.
- 100 rooms in all, 84 suites and 16 beach pool villas, on a 70,000 m² estate around its own natural lagoon.
- The lagoon has its own care team. Turtles, fish and tree-dwelling snails live there, and grass carp keep invasive water plants down.
- It runs a coral restoration project and beach clean-ups with the Marine Conservation Society of Seychelles, and bottles its own water from rainwater and an osmosis plant.

The rooms are stylish suites and villas, and the resort is designed around its beach and pool, with several places to eat and a spa for quieter days. Guests describe it as well organised and beautifully kept, the sort of place that works as easily for a honeymoon as for a family, with the water and its activities right at the front.
Service and the beach itself are the strongest themes in the reviews. The team is described as kind, attentive and professional, and the water sports off the beach, snorkelling and kayaking in particular, come up again and again as a highlight, well run and genuinely fun. It is the combination of a good-looking resort and staff who clearly care that fills the reviews.
Bel Ombre is a calm stretch of the north coast, a short drive from the busy beach and restaurants of Beau Vallon and about twenty minutes from Victoria. It has a quieter, more residential feel while keeping you close to everything on the north of the island, and the diving and boat trips of the north-west coast are all within easy reach. For an elegant beachfront resort with strong service and good water sports, it is one we are glad to recommend.

The Area
Bel Ombre is a quiet residential stretch of the north coast of Mahé, just west of the busy beach at Beau Vallon and about twenty minutes by car from Victoria, the capital. It has a calmer, more local feel than its famous neighbour while keeping you within a few minutes of Beau Vallon's dive centres, restaurants and Wednesday food market. The beach here is sheltered and good for swimming and snorkelling, and the waters off the north-west coast are the base for diving and boat trips to the Sainte Anne marine park. Mahé is the main island, with the widest choice of beaches and restaurants, and a hire car or the regular bus makes getting around simple.
