✓ Verified listing · Official Seychelles Tourism registerStephna Residence is a small, family-run set of self-catering apartments in the hills at Santa Maria on Mahé, and it holds a near-perfect rating built on three things guests mention over and over, a phenomenal view, spotless comfort and genuinely wonderful hosts. Apartments are described as clean and well maintained, a good size, with a fully equipped kitchen for cooking your own meals, a big bathroom, a private balcony and a lovely patio to relax on.
The pool and the outlook are the stars. The swimming pool is almost always free, guests say, so it feels close to private, a perfect place to cool off or sit with a drink and watch the sunset. The elevated setting delivers views more than one reviewer calls absolutely phenomenal, out over the coast and the sea, the kind of outlook that turns an ordinary evening on the balcony into something memorable.
The hosting is repeatedly singled out. Guests call the hosts, Dorothy among them, THE BEST, warm, attentive and endlessly helpful, right down to sitting a solo traveller down to work out the local bus schedules. That leads to a real practical strength, a bus stop sits right in front of the property, with bus 6 reaching it from the airport in about twenty-five minutes and bus 9 heading up towards the Morne Blanc hiking trail, and a supermarket is around ten minutes on foot.
A couple of honest notes, the room can feel a little dark at night, which one guest rather liked as part of the mood, and the road is fairly steep, so walking is possible but a hire car makes life easier and is generally advisable on this part of Mahé. Set against the view, the pool and the hosting, these are minor, and the 4.9 rating reflects a clean, comfortable, warmly run and spectacularly positioned base that guests clearly adore.

We are Spanish and we love this place. So quiet, beautiful views, parking, and the service was amazing. All clean and all perfect. Thank you so much for your treatment.

We had a great stay at this house in Mahé! The place is very clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you prefer to cook your own meals. The patio is a lovely spot to relax, and one of the best parts was the pool — it was almost always free, so it felt like having a priv

Great place to stay when visiting Mahé. Renting a car is advisable, as walking or cycling isn’t easy on the island, though we did walk to the beach often (so it’s possible, but the road is quite steep). The view is absolutely phenomenal and the hosts are THE BEST. The pool is also really nice for some cooling down. We

There is a bus stop right in front of this hotel so the location is perfect for a solo traveler too! Bus number 6 comes here from the airport in 25 minutes and you can go Morne blanc hiking by bus 9. Also there is 10 minutes walking distance supermarket. Dorothy was so kind at finding all the bus schedule for me. Afte

Stayed here for 3 nights in a one bed room apartment. It was a good size, had a nice kitchen and big bathroom. It was a little dark at night in the room but all part of the mood. Had a nice private balcony and the shared pool is really good. You can sit and watch the sun set with a drink. There is a washing a machine a

Santa Maria sits in the green hills on the eastern side of Mahé, an elevated, residential area a little inland from Victoria known for sweeping views out over the coast and the sea. It is a quiet, everyday part of the island rather than a beach or resort strip, and the roads here are steep and winding, so a hire car makes a base up here much easier, though buses do serve the area. The capital, Victoria, is only a short drive down towards the coast, the airport around twenty-five minutes away, and the forest trails of the Morne Seychellois National Park, including the Morne Blanc walk, are within reach for a change from the beaches.
