Guesthouse · Anse Lazio, Praslin
★★★★☆ 3.6 (308 Google reviews)
✓ Verified listing · Official Seychelles Tourism registerLe Chevalier Bay Guesthouse sits right next to Anse Lazio, on the north-west coast of Praslin, a small guesthouse of around ten rooms steps from what many call the most beautiful beach in the country. It holds 3.6 stars from more than three hundred reviews, a mixed picture, but its position and its restaurant are what keep guests coming. An unbeatable beach on the doorstep is the reason to stay.
The rooms are big, clean and comfortable, and guests who came for peace and quiet found exactly that, a calm, relaxing spot that empties out at night once the day visitors leave. The restaurant and bar draw real praise, with good cocktails and curries, prawn and fish especially, and breakfast looking out over the bay. To be straight, the mixed rating reflects that it is a remote, simple guesthouse where prices are on the high side and service can feel a little intense rather than relaxed, so it suits guests who want the beach and the quiet above all.
The setting is the whole story. Anse Lazio and the smaller Petite Anse Lazio are right there, and the owners, a family running the place themselves, are described as kind and genuinely wanting everything to be right for their guests. For those who value being on this beach over a polished resort, it is a rare spot.
Anse Lazio is on the north-west coast of Praslin, regularly ranked among the finest beaches in the world, a long curve of pale sand and clear water framed by granite boulders and takamaka trees. It is a little way from the island's main road, which keeps it quiet, and the day visitors thin out by late afternoon. The resort beach of Côte d'Or, with its shops and restaurants, is a short drive away, and the Vallée de Mai palm forest is inland. Praslin is reached by a quick flight or the fast ferry from Mahé. For a simple guesthouse in an extraordinary beach setting on Praslin, Le Chevalier Bay is worth considering.

Very friendly guest house. We had 4 nights there and had an amazing time. Note that its on a relatively far away place on the island, so at nights it will die quickly. However we were looking for something quiet, just like this. Day time will get busier, but not bad at all, still lots of space to relax. I believe

We tested the parking, bar and restaurant (not the rooms). Much better parking for the same price as the entrance parking (SCR100). Great coktails and great food, we advice all curry, especially prawns and fish curry. The owner and his son were very kind and helpfull. Prices are high but it is one of the best beaches i

We had a wonderful seven-day stay. The owners, Sandra and Vito, are passionate and want to make everything perfect for their guests. This could be handled more relaxedly, though, for the better atmosphere. But other than that, the food is good quality, and our family room had a wonderful bed. We wish them all the best

Anse Lazio is on the north-west coast of Praslin, regularly ranked among the finest beaches in the world, a long curve of soft, pale sand and clear turquoise water, framed by smooth granite boulders and shady takamaka trees. It lies a little off the island's main road, at the end of a hill, which keeps it quieter than the resort strip, and the day visitors thin out by late afternoon to leave it calm. There are a couple of beach restaurants, and the snorkelling around the rocks at either end is good. The busier Côte d'Or, with its shops and dive centres, is a short drive away, and the Vallée de Mai palm forest is inland. Praslin is reached by a quick flight or the fast ferry from Mahé, and a hire car makes the most of it.
