Guests describe beautiful, comfortable houses with ample rooms, big bathrooms, cosy kitchens and their own terrace, and the sea, quite literally, right in front of them.

Hazel, the manager, is named in review after review as a wonderful host, helpful and supportive with everything from car hire to information, and known for sitting new arrivals down with a map of Praslin to talk them through the whole island. That personal touch, alongside friendly staff, gives Heliconia Grove a genuine family atmosphere that guests keep returning to in their reviews.
The location manages to be both central and calm. You are on the Côte d'Or itself, with its long stretch of pale sand, calm swimming water and run of restaurants and shops, yet the village shops are only about five to seven minutes on foot and the setting stays peaceful and green. It is an easy base whether you want to walk to dinner or simply step from your terrace into the sea.
Comfortable, private and beautifully placed, with a pool of your own and the beach at the door, Heliconia Grove suits families and couples who want space, privacy and Praslin's best-loved beach all at once. The 4.8 rating and the warmth of the reviews, especially towards Hazel, make it clear why so many guests say they would happily return.

The Côte d'Or, on Anse Volbert bay, is the liveliest and most convenient beach on Praslin's north coast, a long crescent of pale sand with calm, shallow water that swims safely and suits families. Behind it runs the island's best line-up of restaurants, shops, dive centres and boat operators, with trips out to Curieuse and the Cousin bird sanctuary leaving from here. The Vallée de Mai palm forest is a short drive inland, and the celebrated Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette lie over the headlands nearby. Buses and taxis make getting around simple, and much of what you need is walkable.
