Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is a luxury resort set on a lush hillside above Petite Anse, a secluded bay on the south-west coast of Mahé. It is a resort of villas and suites tucked into the greenery rather than a big block of rooms, and it holds 4.6 stars from more than a thousand reviews. The setting is the thing, a private bay, turquoise water and villas with views that guests call, without much exaggeration, a dream.

The villas climb the hillside, many with a private pool and a deck framing the bay, and guests describe real privacy, comfort and a sense of seclusion. The beach sits at the foot of the hill in its own cove, quiet and largely for guests, and more than one visitor calls it the best beach they found on Mahé. There are restaurants, a spa and the calm that comes with a resort built into a hidden corner of the coast.

Service matches the setting, warm, polished and attentive, the kind guests expect at this level and, by the reviews, generally get. It reads as a genuine special-occasion resort, a place people choose for honeymoons and milestones and remember afterwards.

Petite Anse is on the south-west coast of Mahé, a green and quiet stretch near Baie Lazare, about forty minutes from the airport and Victoria. Some of the island's finest beaches, Anse Intendance and Petite Anse itself among them, are close by, and the coast here is calm and beautiful. For a secluded, romantic luxury resort with a private bay and views to match, Four Seasons is one of the island's best and one we happily recommend.

Our stay at the Four Seasons Seychelles was, honestly, spectacular and unforgettable. The location is absolutely amazing. It’s set in a beautiful bay and, without a doubt, it was the best beach we saw on the entire island of Mahé. Because it’s located in a bay, the beach was almost exclusively used by guests from the r

I stayed at two Four Seasons properties in the Seychelles: one on Mahé Island and the other on Desroches Island. Among the many Four Seasons hotels I've visited over the years, these felt fairly average. That said, when compared to other hotels and resorts in the region, they would likely earn near-perfect scores. I v

Getting there and the area

Petite Anse is a secluded bay on the south-west coast of Mahé, near Baie Lazare, about forty minutes by car from the airport and Victoria. It is one of the greener, quieter parts of the main island, a coast of hidden coves and hillsides of forest that holds some of the finest beaches in the country, with Anse Intendance and Anse Soleil a short drive away. The water on this side is clear and good for swimming and snorkelling, and the setting feels a world away from the busier north. Mahé is the main island, with the widest choice of beaches and restaurants, and a hire car is the easy way to reach this southern coast.
