Anse Forbans, a calm, swimmable beach, is right across the street.

Anse Forbans is on the south coast of Mahé, a quiet, scenic stretch of calm, swimmable beach away from the busier north of the island, ideal for a relaxed, authentic stay. Anse Royale, with its long beach, and the spice garden and craft studios of the south are close by, and the airport is around fifteen to twenty minutes to the north, with Victoria a little beyond. For a warm, family-run bed and breakfast on a peaceful south-coast beach on Mahé, Captain's Villa is one we happily recommend.

Anse Forbans is a quiet, scenic bay on the south coast of Mahé, a long, calm and shallow beach that is safe for swimming and lined with takamaka trees, away from the busier resorts of the north. It is one of the island's more local, low-key corners, ideal for a relaxed stay close to nature, and the reef offshore makes for gentle snorkelling. The neighbouring Anse Royale, with its long beach and lagoon, is a few minutes away, along with the spice garden at Le Jardin du Roi and the craft studios of the south. The airport is around fifteen to twenty minutes to the north, and Victoria a little beyond. Mahé is the main island, with the widest choice of beaches and restaurants, and a hire car makes the most of this quieter southern coast.
