Margaret owns the guesthouse and runs it with a hands-on, personal touch, and guests describe the care as coming from everyone, from the manager down to the room service team. It reads as a proper guesthouse rather than a large, impersonal hotel.
Food is a real reason to stay here. Breakfast is well done, and the dinner menu is long, with dozens of dishes to choose from. Several guests said they never needed to leave to find a restaurant in the evening, which matters on a hilltop where heading out takes effort. Meals are cooked and served on site, so an evening can begin and end without a drive down the hill.
The pool is where many guests remember the place best, especially at sunset, when the light drops over the coastline below. The staff draw steady praise. Levi and Josephene are warm and welcoming on arrival, and guests single out Sanjay as the person to ask for anything. Rooms are kept clean, with fresh bed linen and towels, good wifi and hot running water. One couple noted the towels were changed even when they said there was no need.
Honesty matters here. Amanda Villa is uphill, and the mountain and ocean views come with a climb, so guests who want to be steps from the sand should know that in advance. The trade-off is softened by a complimentary transfer down to the shops and cafes, which several guests called a real plus. Parking is generous, with room for around seven cars, so anyone renting a vehicle has space to leave it.

Made a stop by at Villa Amanda, I was truly impressed by the spacious room with beautiful mountains and ocean View, although the Villa is Uphill their is availability of complimentary transfer to the shops and cafes which is really impeccable. It was great to stay there. First of all the staff was great they were really helpful and kind. Especially you can ask Sanjay for anything he will help you. The room was very clean and the changed the bed and towels even if we told there was no need. Breakfast was good. And for dinner never needed to search for a rest

Au Cap is a quiet residential stretch on the south east coast of Mahé, within easy reach of the airport and the east coast beaches. Amanda Villa's own setting is on the hill above the village, which is what gives the rooms and pool their mountain and ocean views. Getting up to the guesthouse means a climb, so Margaret's team runs a complimentary transfer down to the local shops and cafes, and there is parking for several cars for those who drive. It is the hilltop, meals-included option in Au Cap, clearly different from the sea-level self-catering apartments nearby.
