Self-catering · Anse Reunion, La Digue
★★★★★ 4.8 (58 Google reviews)
✓ Verified listing · Official Seychelles Tourism registerAgnes Cottage is a small self-catering guesthouse at Anse Réunion on La Digue, with four rooms and space for up to eight guests. It carries a 4.8 rating from 58 Google reviews, and the thread running through almost all of them is the same. This is an easy home base, close to the beach and a supermarket, run by a host guests genuinely warm to. Repeat visitors call it the loveliest place they stayed while island-hopping.
The rooms read as clean above all else. Guests describe the place as spotlessly clean and cleaned daily, with one couple noting a big room and a pleasant garden view. It is self-catering, so guests have their own space to settle into rather than a hotel setup. The feel is cosy rather than large or luxurious, and that is exactly what people seem to want here. Nobody complained about the size. They praised the comfort and the care that went into keeping it tidy.
Agnes is the host almost every review names, often alongside her husband. The welcome sets the tone, with one guest arriving to a mocktail. Breakfast is generous to the point that another guest asked her to size it down, with eggs, toast, pancakes and homemade cake on the table. Agnes cooks dinner on request too, and a Creole dinner on the last night stood out as a highlight for more than one visitor. Guests describe her as the most caring person they met in the Seychelles.
The location does a lot of the work. The beach, bars and restaurants sit within easy reach, and guests found everything simple to get to by bike. The 4.8 rating looks earned rather than inflated. It reflects a clean, well-kept guesthouse and a host who cooks well and looks after people, not a large or fancy property. For travellers who want a comfortable, friendly base for cycling La Digue and eating well, that trade reads as a good one.

La Digue is reached by ferry, most often the roughly fifteen-minute crossing from Praslin into La Passe, with connections on to Mahé. Anse Réunion sits just south of La Passe, an easy ride or walk from the jetty. The real draw here is everyday convenience. A supermarket, small eateries and bike hire are all a short walk away, which makes self-catering genuinely easy rather than a chore. Bikes are how most people get around the island. L'Union Estate and the much-photographed Anse Source d'Argent are a manageable ride further on, but the daily rhythm here is shops, beach and food close to the door.
